HARRISONBURG - Blue Ridge Community College wants to help older folks find a job.
According to a release, the college recently began offering an online class called "Making Age an Asset in Your Job Search." The course, based on research and programs developed by AARP, is geared for people 50 and older seeking a career change or just looking for a new job.
The class is one of more than 300 online courses offered by BRCC.
According to the class's Web site, new sessions of each course run every month and last six weeks. The course offers two new lessons a week for a total of 12 lessons.
The course is entirely Web-based and includes comprehensive lessons, quizzes and assignments. The class helps people plan a job search, build resumes, prep for interviews and identify jobs that fit an individual's skills and experience.
BRCC is offering the noncredit course during 2009 for $49.
